Transmission Advice

I have a 2002 Acura TL Type S with 77,000. The original transmission is now failing (I did have the oil jet recall done). I have a buddy who works at a transmission shop who can rebuild my transmission with the updates according to his books for $1000. I have read about people swapping the transmission for 3rd gen tl, 06-07 accord, or 03-07 oddessy transmission. I found a used transmission with 55,000 miles (no way to verify, transmission is out of car) that I can buy and put in for about $1000. So either way is going to cost me about the same.
Now I am stuck at a cross road and do not know what to do. Should I rebuild my transmission, and if so how much can I expect to get out of the rebuilt transmission? Or am I better off doing the swap?
Any input would be great!!! Thanks

Do the swap, get a 06-07 Accord trans, has the updated castings.

If you rebuild your current one, you will be in for the same repairs.... at least with the AV6 swap, there's a much less chance of it failing the same way (clutch packs starving for fluid)

The transmission I found was for a 06 TL. Does this one have the updated castings? Or should I just keep looking for 06-07 Accord transmission?

*Supposedly* all casting after 05 have the internal updates, but I have seen some ramblings on the net about the TL and Oddy trannies having the same issues....

Personally, I would go for the Accord trans, better bet there
