Tranny Replacement Question
:Hey guys before i start i just wanted to say i love the site! I've been looking on here for over a year and have to go on at least once a day to get my a-zine fix..lol but to the question. I bought my 03 TL-P from this guy who told me he had already gotten his tranny changed but now i started having trouble with my tranny. The TL has 120,000 miles on it, the tranny about 60,000 i think? I was wondering if i could get the tranny replaced from the dealer. Thanks everyone for your input! btw if the tranny can't get replaced i got my mechanic with the 6 speed tranny waiting for me

Yes, you might be able to get a goodwill coverage for some or all of the replacement costs.
Was your TL in the group that was offered the extended warranty on the transmission? (Not all 2003 TLs were.) If so, you'll probably have better odds of getting help.
Read the Tranny Failure Thread for other reports of goodwill repairs and for strategies for requesting help:

Since the thread is so massive, start with the most recent posts and work your way backwards.
Good luck!

Call Acura and ask if the trans was ever replaced- Many owners got the recall oil jet and assumed it was whole trans unit
1-800-382-2238 x5 have your VIN number handy
Acura has been really good recently on replacements and partial coverage or full coverage out of warranty.
Be NICE and speak IN PERSON with the SERVICE MANAGER ONLY not the commission based service writer
The Manager makes a call the Acura Regional Rep- says you are a good guy and gets approval for replacement and determine if you pay labor only, or 1000-3000 of the 4000 total
If they say it needs motor mounts too- get them done because its important and way cheaper labor time with trans removed
