TL Type S Sport Seats ripple

Hey there,
I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. The driver front seat seems to have a permanent ripple in the bottom part that you sit on. It doesn't seem to come back flat again either. I only bought the car a few weeks ago and didn't notice it when i bought it.

Is anyone else having this problem?

i have the exact same prob. Only the driver seat has this ripple. I went in and asked them about it and they blammed it on me because i sit in the seat. I was like uhhh ok yea thats not why it would ripplr like that cause there is always a guy that weighs 50 pounds more than me in the passenger seat and it has no ripples.

I gave up and just am living with it. I had this early like when i had about 5,000 miles on the car and i have about 40,000 and still the passenger seat still has no ripples.

I know in the past honda was replacing the "butt" imprint seat covers. I havent seen this problem be brought up in over a year. If you still have warranty try bringing it in.

Try an auto upholstery shop

You could always take it to an auto upholstery shop. They could repack the foam on the bottom, check the mechanism holding the seat, or just add a foam/matting filler insert.

the leather has stretched. filling foam in there wont do it. It may be possible to stretch the leather further.

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, it is still under warranty and I casually asked the lady at the dealer and she said it must of been from the guy who had it before me, maybe he was bigger she said.

It doesn't bother me too much but I just bought the car and it seems as if it shouldn't be there. I don't remember it when I bought the car and wonder if it's from sweating in the seat. Although my girl sits in the passanger seat and it has no ripple in it.

Hmmmm, thanks for the help.

Yes I have the same problem in my TL-S

I think its because the driver sits in it the most and it depends how you sit too.

I think that my ass is a little pointy as well. If I had a Fat ass, I don' t think the leater would stretch as easily.

Or another reason could be that you are always pucking your anal sphincter so that the blood supply can stay in your head so that you don't pass out from the G forces your pulling.

If this isn't the case, maybe we can take a survey of ass shaped owners of TLS's?

I don't buy into the boney ass theory.

Yes the leather sucks on the seats......Mine is starting the shape of yours and the leather is getting more & more wrinkles as we speak......I'm thinking its the way you sit in your seat and position....do you have the chair tilted? Is there anything in your back pocket like a wallet?

hmm i think its acutally the way I sit...

I should sit straighter i guess so that the back of my thighs should rest on the seat as well.

I'm guessing if you sit on the seat with All ASS and almost to no weight from your thighs, all the weight is concentrated into the ASS portion of the seat which creates ASS prints, which will eventually stretch the crappy leather.

I hope I'm right this time......LOL

Its not the way you sit. Its the leather. Many in the past had this issue and had the dealer resolve it under warranty

I've had it forever in my '03 Type-S. It doesn't bother me much.

Dealer says normal

I took it into my dealer and they stated that it was "normal wear and tear." I asked what I should do and I was recommended to a upholstery shop. I am going to see what they say.
