Timing belt changed?
Timing belt changed?
Just wondering if there is any way to tell if a timing belt has been changed in a 2003 TL-S. Without having to take it in and get charged tons of money. The reason I'm asking is I bought mine with 110,000 miles. I wasn't told if it was changed or not. Otherwise I'll have to pay $1000 to get done with the water pump.
chances are that it hasn't been replaced, as most will agree.
if you're not comfortable doing this yourself, via DIY, i'd definitely suggest that you look for a shop that specializes in honda/acura vehicles. they may even charge up to 300$ less, at least in my experience they did

To answer your question, you could really only tell if it had been done recently. Look under the belt cover and see if you can see any markings on the belt, maybe even the brand name printed on the belt itself. If so, there is a good chance it has been done already, however if not I would get it done asap.
