Thump/clunk when turning left

I have a 02 TL-S, when turning left hard at speed there is a thump/clunk. What could it be? I know its not the CV axles b/c i just replaced those, ball joints seem good too. Any ideas?

new parts are known to fail ~ never trust that without cking them!
control arm bushings are a popular failure recently

get under the car with a prybar and start testing parts
or go to an alignment shop and ask them to do it

Can you confirm you got the correct axles installed.

My wife had a 93 Integra that had both half-shafts replaced and noticed a similar noise when turning. Turns out the axles on the auto are slightly smaller than on the 5-speed.

Looks like the 6-speed CLS and auto (TL/CL) axles are the same so that's not the issue.

Clunk when you do a hard turn sounds like the axle is loose and popping out.
Did you try putting car up on a lift and turning hard left to see what the axle is doing?

I always suspect the last work done on the car when a new problem occurs

axle install guru's--isnt there a circlip of some kind at the case end- could that be out of position-not locked in its cutout place and allowing movement?

or the wrong parts as suggested above--if you dont match them up,, you dont know!
things get in wrong boxes--it happens

there is a spring clip in the end of the inner CV but it will not make a clicking noise regardless if it's in it's groove or not since if it's not in the groove then it'll be compressed on the shaft.

i would look and see if the motor mounts have failed and allowed the engine to drop some and inturn the band on the CV boot is hitting the frame. Other than that I would supect the halfshaft as being bad even though it's new some are made pretty cheaply.

Yeah actually the front motor mount is bad, you think that is causing an issue? Axles are correct size and I recall the clunk even before the new axles but it wasn't as significant.

Doh! you have a known failed front mount... and we are discussing possible clunks and thunks??

I think you know what the problem is, and by now it may have taken out the pass side mount from the extra load its carrying

i just put in my poly front last week. it was fairly easy. did it under 2 hours in a muddy back yard and never did one befor. the back passenger bolt on the cross member is the hardest to get out so i would start with that first

clunk when turning tight left, not all the time

the only thing that happened recently is my front driver side went off a curb when I was backing up...and nothing obvious happened then. I took car to local schwabs, they did suspension check, cv joint, etc. said nothing obviously mechanically wrong. I dont know what to do now..
