thermospacer kit engine problems; CAN'T DRIVE!!!

finished installing kit and when I start the engine, a loud hissing noise comes from the engine (can't pinpoint where because the noise is so loud) and the engine revs up and down. Iv disassembled and reassembled everything three times now, checking all the hoses, gaskets, proper torquing of the bolts, and cleaned the IACV. what am i missing or what is going wrong?? my car has been undriveable for 2 weeks now and i'm getting frantic

If this happens at idle it is most likely a leak in the throttle body spacer. You can either tighten the bolts or spray some throttle body cleaner around the spacer to close the leak. Did you completely remove the old gasket?

If it happens while driving, its normal.

And the engine revs should go away after a quick drive. You tampered with the throttle cables, so the computer needs to readjust I guess. Or you didnt reattach throttle cables. Your getting more air in through the throttle body so uhh yaahhh.

WHY IS IT UNDRIVEABLE???????!!!!!!!!

trust me when you turn the engine on, the sound is loud as hell. i reattached the cables and revved it a few times trying to make the revving stop. ill take it for a drive but im very concerned that by doing so i could be messing sumthing up... with the car started, i can hear the noise its making from inside my house... ill tighten the TB bolts a little more (already have them at 18lbs) and try the TB cleaner..

Yah, mine leaked and made a really loud hissing noise which got louder as the engine got hotter. Do what I said, tighten bolts and spray WD-40 or Carb Cleaner around the Spacer. Its not the cables...
You cant really mess anything up.

Double check to make sure you didn't crosslink the vac lines.

Sounds like a vacuum leak. DONT drive the car. Find whats wrong. Also like above, make sure you dont have a coolant line going into a vac line.

Do not spray anything the spacer. You have a textbook vacuum leak. Recheck all the hoses, retorque all the bolts.

didn't spray anything. took it apart, checked the hoses and reassembled again today. all the hoses are in the right spots and are intact. torqued all the bolts to specifications and thoroughly cleaned all the parts. still there is a leak. im at a loss... any ideas?

Remove the kit and restore back to OEM configuration. Now you know if the kit is causing the problem or if the hoses are assembled wrong.

one of the gaskets was causing a vacuum leak. Are you sure they were put on properly?

you install the spacers right with the gaskets???

there's a certain way you have to install them...

i can't find the instructions i had on this computer but recheck all the stuff

even the gaskets...

if its bad.. lay the spacers flat on a flat table to see if you can see any gaps and stuff...

I remember reading that these spacers have to be installed in a certain position. Re-read the instructions, it should mention it in there.

WD40 didn't fix your leak, tightening the bolts did.
