TCS light issue

Hello guys,

One day I drove the car out and when I started the car, the idle was rough and shut off. I started it again and the idle couldn't seem to keep up and went off and engine light and TCS light went on. Tried it again with giving little acceleration, the car runs but both engine and TCS light stayed on. I drove home and search on the forum, it seems to be IVC (idle valve controller) issue. I took the IVC apart, cleaned, placed back on and the idle runs smooth.

I took the car to my friend's shop to help reset the engine and TCS light. The engine light is gone but the TCS light didn't seem to response with a code "94-01 TCS control valve sensor failure"

What could possibly be wrong?

get the batt and charging system ckd to be sure its not false codes or low voltage causing your problem
IACV tends to make the rpm rev and drop 1000-1500-1000
other sources of idle probs are dirty intake throat of throttle body,,worn plugs, bad gas..
clogged egr port system can do it too

run seafoam/cleaner thru the gas? restores `like new clean` to internal passages and parts

note- the easy reset of ecu- clears all codes = remove the CLOCK fuse for a minute--passenger end of dash- open door to see

The battery was replaced in 2010 with OEM honda battery. When I clean the IAVC, I have also clean the throttle body and new K&N drop-in filter. The car is now at 165K miles and last major service was completed at 140K miles with new spark plugs. The car always filled with premium gas and redline fuel system cleaner every 10K miles.

I will try the CLOCK fuse tonight and update for the result! =)

still-- get the charging system tested,,free at parts stores
a 2 year old battery can fail..oe are not the best units available~
3 years life is normal and 4 is exceptional any more

battery wires can go bad inside, ground cable and the smaller frame to engine ground wires can need a cleaning or replacement
been several of those cars reporting in here recently

you had a curb shot event? tire??- its possible the wheel speed sensor was damaged.
the wires for them get crudded inside and weak, or sensor pushed off position,,
maybe popped out of retainer clip
Remove wheel and inspect- make sure sensor is pushed all the way down.
sensor ring clean? no damage to a tooth?

does your cruise control work?

1 minute is fine on the clock fuse, its the secret backup power source for the ecu, remove it and the sytem defaults- has to do a full self test and relearn, see whats changed,,does some amount of learning how you drive too

No curb shot lately...

I tried the cruise control the other day and it works. I will have the battery charge system test and see.

Thanks!

use redline at max allowed--1 bottle to 8 gal iirc,,just under half a tank
seafoam another awesome cleaner,,same ratio 1 can to just under half tank
do either of those twice,,on sequential tanks, and things will be better overall

Need help too...

Like a fool I pressure washed my 00 TL's engine today. First it would not start, and then the check engine light came on. as I drove down the road the TCS light came on and the car went from 2k,1.5k,1k,500.... to dead.. I had the codes ran and P1361,P1366 came up. It drives, but as soon as you get 3k rpms it shuts down.. any ideas would be greatly appreciated..

Wait for it to dry out.

Here is an update.

I had the battery and charging system checked and no false codes. All fuses are good and ABS works fine as well...
