Exclamation TCS, Check Engine light and engine revving in Park

I went out with a drive with my mom today (Still have permit, take test on tuesday)
When i started the car it took a long time for it to turn over, thought that was odd but it was cold out. When i was braking at a red light it seemed tough and there was resistance with it. the engine was in a deeper sound and it was rattling. I then pulled it to the side and had her drive home because i am still a new driver and trusted her with my baby more than i do with myself. The accelerator is acting up because when it was in park the RPM would go from the 0-3 like it was breathing. We are taking it into the shop tomorrow. Is there a quick fix for this or is it dangerous enough that we need to get it towed.

chances are its got a dirty IACV idle air control valve
search on here for details
its inside the bottem of the throttle body assembly
assuming you have over 75kmiles its ready for the egr passage and port cleaning of the intake manifold--that will contribute to hard start and bad running
those parts are attached so you do the jobs together

other things to look at are age of spark plugs, over 75kmiles time for new ngks. 8bucks each
have battery system tested for free at parts store,
run seafoam 1 can thru half a tank- twice,,to do better job than shops 120 dollar `induction cleaning`

ck is it actually revving from 1000-1500,,not 3000
that low one is iacv clogged,,clean not replace~

got it back from the mechanic, he said that it has something about an altitude and the car thought it was higher in altitude so it was trying to convert from gas to air or something?(Live in san diego, max altitude is like 10 above sea level haha) Sounded really weird. But he fixed it for free, in case anyone has this problem now you know!

The guy fed you a serious line of Bull $hit. It was you Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) it was sticking causing the reving like that. Its common on these cars and altitude has nothing to do with it. If the car had sat for a period of time that usually causes it. Its mounted to the bottom of the Throttle Body. If it happens again take it off and clean it, and put a little WD40 or similar in it to lubricate it.
