Strange Audio Issue....Steering Wheel Controls
In the last couple of days, I am getting the following behavior from the volume controls on the steering wheel of my 03 TL-S:
When I hit the down button, the volume will actually go up. If I keep hitting the down button, eventually the volume will start to go down.
In addition, the radio station may change.
This behavior is intermittent. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike

I got the same problem with my TL-P 02 and the Acura service Bulletin said is a bad ground of the volume/control unit inside the steering wheel.
I did not want to remove the Air Bag so try to live with the problem .

Dont look at it as having to remove the airbag. Look at it as having to remove the steering wheel. The airbag is one solid unit and you wont have to repack it or install it wrong. Its a easy thing to do and many have done it.

I had the bad clockspring ground problem and fixed it, but this sounds like it may be a different problem-mine didn't behave as Mike described.
Mike-quick test-with engine running of course, turn the steering wheel 90 degrees in either direction and see how the radio controls work in that position. If they work right doing this, it probably is the ground problem. Cruise control buttons and horn can also be affected.
Removing the air bag is Soo easy a cave man could do it...no problem for an Acurazine member

Alan is that the TSB that requires putting dimples in the copper ring?

Re: TSB
Yes-that is the one. light hand pressure with a small, pocket-sized flathead screwdriver is all that is needed to make the dimples. The copper ring is really thin.

Hello, I just bought my wife a used 2003 TL-S and it is having the same issue with the audio buttons. I'm usually pretty handy at fixing these little quirks, but can't find the service bulletin that describes how to fix it. Do you have a link to this bulletin? Thanks in advance!
