Ok so today my 00 TL started having a rough idle like really rough idle yes there is a slight custom exhaust on the car and yes there is a intake but what didnt make any sense is there was no check engine light at first. Then I proceeded to unplug the coils one by one to see if that would trigger anything and after going through all of them I finally got a check engine light somewhere along that process something went wrong please help! not trying to replace a whole coil wiring harness or coils in general

 

When's the last time you cleaned your egr ports on your intake manifold?

 

Well heres an update I went to advanced auto and I got the codes and turns out they were misfires thankfully the ecu resolved itself after we kept driving around also during that time we seafoamed the car and I runs ALOT better now although still is a still rough on idle start up

 

Sounds like EGR port cleaning is needed. I would take it apart to do this job, it gets pretty blocked up. while you are there, you can also check your IAC valve, it sometimes too gets gummed up and doesn't freely rotate to control idle.

 

Ok so almost a month ago we took it into service and they said they cleaned the valves and replaced the spark plugs and today it did it again this time while driving it started to break up on the low end
