Search did not answer me. HELP!!!

I am having this issue with ticking from what may be the purge control solenoid (I think). The temp here in Atlanta has been ranging from mid/up 80's to mid/up 90's so I don't know why mine has gotten louder if that is indeed the problem most folks say it gets louder in colder weather. As I step on the gas the ticking gets louder and increases with speed, I only here it under a load, in other words if I put it in Neutral or park and step on the gas I won't here it. I tried fuel injector cleaner and also a additive that suppose to quiet valve tapping, it got quieter(sp?) for a couple of days than came back. I thought it could have been a low oil issue at first, oil level was fine(using Mobil1 5W30, maybe it's to thin for the summer temps ). If this is indeed due to the purge solenoid is it something I can replace myself since I am out of warrenty? Part#??? Another possibilty could be an exhaust leak, I have had my OBX headers on for almost two years with no problems so i don't think it's them
Help, the ticking is annoying me even my wife noticed
Sorry for getting longwinded, just wanted to be detailed so folks could have a clear understanding of the issue.

check you front end axle- boots and joints. If you leave the shift in D5 idling, do you hear the ticking noise?

No, only hear it when I step on the gas (under a load). As I speed up the ticking also speeds up.

Even though they have been on the car all this time with no problems (besides resonance) gaskets can just go out all of a sudden???

Cv joints will click like that, and the ticking will increase in speed as the car goes faster, obviously, and then after a certain point the sound will fade away (or by covered by wind/road noise). Is it any worse if you're turning as you accelerate?

I was hoping you would chime in, I see you posted on the other threads regarding this topic when I did a search. I can't really tell while I am driving but it seems to be more in the engine compartment. And like I said it increases with speed. Some days it seems louder.

Anyone have anymore info on the purge control solenoid as being the most likely cause of my ticking issue when I accelerate?
Can anyone tell me the exact location, part#, and if it's a easy enough job to do myself? Thanks....

so you can hear it while driving. can you hear it while the car is parked? pop the hood and see if you can hear it while idleing. Ith may be the Pulsation Damper (part #1),

or the FPR Fuel Pressure Regulator (part 9)

Well, I replaced the pressure control solenoid and I am still getting the damn ticking noise when I step on the gas when in drive. As stated before it does not tick when in park or neutral. Any other ideas? Could it really be the valves tapping (I hope not, $$$)? I am going to do a oil change tomorrow again using what I have been using since I have had the car Mobil1 5W30 Synthetic, but this time I am going to try 3 quarts of 5W30 and 1 quart of 10W30.
