Right headlight bulb replacement

I'v been searching through other threads to find out which bulbs I need to replace the oem. And I read a lot about the D2R bulb so I'm assuming it's #6 that I will need to buy?

dont need oem bulbs
there are many aftermarket choices, all for less than 1 oem bulb
you need to replace bulbs in pairs as they will be way different color and brightness
HID bulbs change as they age
www.hidextra.com is one of our trusted vendors will unreal low prices

Now the big question- is there moisture inside the headlight lens, or was there pink tint to bulb at startup (when facing garage door)
if pink its age death
if moisture its time to diy reseal the lens and replace the ballast system with a new kit from hidextra,,59$!! for 2 bulbs 2 ballast 2 capacitor wire/connector from ballast to bulb.
optional relay kit 16 bucks
coupons found online for another 10-15% off
mention acurazine
call for best service
suggest 5000k color for best visablity on road

the mounting plate/base of bulb changes with designation: d2R d2S d2C
iirc one interchanges with both

I just installed the complete HIDExtra kit in our '99. I'm finding that the 5000K lamps are a bit "blue" for my tastes. It's like driving by moonlight.

BTW when I called them up, they said we don't need the relay kit on our Acuras. So, save the money.

So far, no flickering (it's only been a week, though).

Regards the lamps, I asked for the D2R (Reflector, as opposed to Projector) bulb and I got the D2S. They fit fine, no problems. Really fast order fulfillment..

Is 5k legal? I live in fairfax county, VA and bad enough they harrass me over my tints I don't want another reason for them to pull me over.

5 k is legal and mine are white compared to the 6k they replaced
4300 is stock color but your old OE ones are faded and dim so you cant make a fair comparison by them
give the new bulbs 50 hours of use to get color and brightness fully `burned in`

window tints are an Officer SAFETY issue,,too dark to see you = bad guys with guns inside
Watch any cop show a few times and understand why

8k lights are so blue as to be purple--those will draw attention to you

we dont NEED the relay --BUT suggest you do as it bypasses acuras relay and fusebox which have shown problems with different electrical draw from some aftermarket setups.
AND gives you dedicated power to the lights- so they work better

Ok so it is a set of bulbs I am getting or an HID Kit? I rather want just the bulbs so I can replace quickly. I went here and in my case I would only need the low beem, D2R/D2S?

Is it easy to install or should I take it to a shop? I think I might get the 6k.

Just deciding which low beams to get. But as someone said earlier that the 5k has a bit a blue. In the example pictures they look white. The 6k looks more blue and luxury. Just not sure which one to choose. Basically I want white with a little bit of blue.

Also what's the difference between the series?

Signature Series (35w)
Power Series (55w)
Stealth Series (Slim)
Volt Canbus Series (Premium)

How are the HIDs holding up?

They held up fine until a deer jumped out in front of the car.

The lenses were broken but the HIDs still worked.
