This started like 3 months ago...one morning I got in my car('02 TL) and the radio was off it asked me for the code to turn back on so I got the code and it worked fine..didn't have problems with it for about 2 weeks then it was off again..after entering the code it turned on..so then it would stay on for like a week and turn off again..this continued up until the point where it would randomly turn off as I am driving and then as if it had a mind of its own turn back on and require the code..I also have a radar detector plugged into the center console ligher jack and this goes out along with the radio..at first it was no big deal since it would stay on for a while and then shut off and ask for the code but it got to the point where it was off more than it was on and now it hasn't been working at all for several days..it can't be a fuse since if the fuse was blown it would be permanently off..so there must be some kind of short and I'm assuming its either the power wire or the wire that indicates the car is on..I should also mention that about a 2-3 weeks before this started happening I spilled some water in the center console..so before I take this thing apart..has anyone had similar problems or can recommend a solution??

??? sounds like a short somewhere. tracking them down can be a pain

 

Start to track the short from where that you did spill some water in the center console.
