Problem with rear doors
Problem with rear doors
Hello I’m a new member. I signed up because I’m having some problems with my car and seeking help. I have a 2003 Acura TL S. About two weeks ago, the rare doors would not unlock whatsoever. It was like that for two days, then it started working again. Today I tried to put the key in the driver door and it wouldn’t turn. I had to unlock the car from the passenger door. Once inside, I noticed the rare doors won’t unlock again. What can this be? Also my gears just started getting stuck in park no matter how hard I press the brake the gears don’t shift down unless I press down the button beside the stick. 🤔
Hi! Welcome...Sounds like there are two problems:
About item 1: is it just unlocking only? or both lock/unlock? if it both rear doors or just one? also: are you talking about using the key fob or turning the key in the drivers door to lock/unlock...or are you actually saying something mechanical is preventing it from locking/unlocking? I'm guessing it to be electro-mechanical and the door lock/unlock solenoid; but not sure of that if it's more than one door as that would be rare they all fail at the same time.
Item 2: there is a switch above the brake pedal that locks/unlocks the shift lock. when you press on the brake that switch activates a solenoid in the shifting area that can be heard. do you hear that?
- The rear doors are not unlocking.
- Your not able to shift out of park no matter how hard you press down on the brake pedal.
