problem instaling K&N fillter 03 tl-type S

problem instaling K&N fillter 03 tl-type S

Has anyone installed a K&N filter on their type-S. Man i am having a hard time. It fits perfectly but i cant close the filter box, I cant get the clips on the cover to go in... Do i need some major force to push it in,,,, Any help will do guys,,, thanks

Yeah, I had that problem when I first got mine. You got to make sure it seats in perfectly and then start clipping it in. Make sure you have it in the right way up if you haven't done so already and then you may need a little muscle to clip it. After I had it in, it seemed like it was easier to remove and re-install a 2nd time around. Not sure why?

Thanks man, I kinda figured it needs a little muscle. And I think it was to damn cold and I didnt have a garage.. LOL Can it be to cold in texas... U still have it? if so.. did u see any diffrence in power? I realy got the filter cos the dealer wanted $38 and i got this for 40...hands down, it K&N was the winner.

Just guessing but maybe gained between 2 to 5 hp...that's a guess. It did feel a tad bit faster but nothing earth shattering. I did notice a big difference in gas mileage. I think I get an extra 3 to 5 miles per gallon or so. I did some before and after tests a long time ago and came up with those results of mixed driving. I clean mine every 15K miles or so. Kind of dusty here in CO. It's worth it if you ask me.
