Outdoor Temperature Gauge

Today when I started my 2000 TLP the outdoor temperature gauge was stuck on a temperature. It just stayed on 68 the entire trip. A billboard said it was 80.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

disconnect the outside temp sensor and dip the sensor in ice water, and measure the resistance. Then pour hot water on the sensor, and check for a change in resistance. If the resistance doesnt change the sensors bad.

Behind/below the bumper IIRC. Use a digital multi meter on the ohm setting to check it. My temp readings went to " --- " the DAY after I installed my CL-6 gauges so I have to check a bunch of crap now too. Goodluck tho

check for an open from the brn/wht wire from the sensor to the gauge, its the 30 pin connector that hooks up to the cluster. its pinset is A18. when you disconnect the connector turn it around and it should be the brn/wht wire in the second row 4th in.

It has to do with the wiring. Mine did that too (then mine would actually drain my battery in about 2 days with the different dash wiring because if that sensor) until i got the right side cabin to engine compt side harness

i guess it was a bad sensor. i did the ice water/warm water test and the resistance stayed the same for both.

thanks for everything!!
