Unhappy Noise after changing engine mounts

I changed the front and passenger side engine mounts on my 02 TL and after replacing them I now have a sort of metal to metal low pitched rattle. It appears to be coming from the rear of the engine compartment and makes the noise whenever I hit a bump or even rev the engine. In other words I can put it in gear and hold the brake and pump the gas and it will make it. I looked at the transmission mounts and those appear to be fine.

My father changed his engine mounts on his 99 TL and seems to have the exact same noise. Is it the rear engine mount or have anything to do with the engine mounts? and any hints on how to change that one if it is that one? It really looks like a pain compared to the other two I changed.

It is just wierd that the noise appeared after changing the mounts.
Please help.

maybe you had more than the 2 broken mounts!
If those are bad long enough the rear engine mount can fail too since it has been holding the load
Its like the front mount- a high tech fluid filled unit. check for oil on the bottem of it

did you retighten all the bolts after letting the engine settle off the jack and onto the mounts?
Or if you tightened them up while the engine was lifted- that would make them sit funny and not really be tight
Always check whatever you did last~

I tightened the bolts after the engine was off of the lift so I am pretty sure it isn't that but I will check those again just to be sure.

I tried looking at the back one and don't remember any oil that had leaked out, I will check that too while I am under it. If it is that one, do you have any hints on changing it? It looks like some of the bolts would be really hard to get at.

Also, why would the back mount start to make noise after I changed the other two and not before? was I supposed to do anything special to the front one that is fluid filled?

Angry

I had my front and side changed too and have a really annoying rattle!! and my damn new belts sound like shit too : ( soooo frustrating... I went back and he sprayed WD40 and it the squeeling from the belts went away for a day or two then back to sounding like an old hoopty!

for the rattle... Endlinks and everything is tight and looked great... For me, it's either the other engine mounts (my front one was destroyed completely when they changed it)
or
The parts that might need to have been replaced with my new struts... the top part
or
I heard the tranny can make that annoying rattle sound

I didn't have the money to just throw at it, so I'm waiting and I'm just going to have ntb do the strut part... if that's not it I'm going to pull my hair out and eat it!

maybe i'll try that... I'm going to call him up and see what's going on and maybe he can fix the rattle and the squeeling... really sounds bad... My car sounded fine before all the belts got changed along with the stock size UR crank pulley.

now when I go through a drive-through... It's f'n annoying

I checked all the bolts and all of that stuff and they were fine. I tried the WD40 on one of the new mounts that I put in and a lot of the noise went away. My belts all sound fine. I guess the new rubber was causing some of the squeeking. there is still a rattle that might be the other mount or something, not sure.
