Unhappy newbie with 02 tl type-s brake issue

Hi,

My name is danny, and i recently bought a 02 tl type-s.
Lately i have been driving around and noticed that the front brake were making a sqeaking sound(like something was touching the rotor constantly while driving). So i decided to change the front brake pads(got durlast gold from autozone).Old pads were closed to nothing almost. So, i put new pads on and lubed the where it needed to be. took it for a test drive and noticed the constant sqeaking, the faster the car goes the faster the sqeak. So, i got out the car and noticed a burning smell coming from the driver side brakes, when i touched the rim, it was very very hot, and then touched the passenger side rim and it was fine.
I took off the rim and caliper, and looked like everything is fine. The whole brake assembly was hot at the time, but i was cautious. The rotors were resurfaced by the previous owner like about 2-3 months ago. What should i do, anybody has or had the same problem?
Thanks

maybe you have a caliper sticking? Does it pull to the drivers side when youre going down the road?

i have tried that and the car doesnt pull to one side. I acutally took caliper out and had someone push the brakes slightly to see if it the caliper moved out and it did, push it back in with the c-clamp and didnt give me a problem. One thing i seen is when putting the caliper back, the lower part had a problem sliding back into the bracket, and hit it with a mallet to push it in and to match the caliper bolt holes.

Sure sounds like a sticking caliper esp. w/ the burning smell and heat... check the fluid in the resv.- is it fresh (mostly clear) or brown?

Welcome to the forums danny! Great to see a car return

This is very odd, especially if you've checked the piston and it moves freely...

Whats up adamlee05. the braking is getting more worse, driver side is shaking more when i brake. i think its the caliper sticking. but its all good because im gonna swap out the calipers for legend calipers brand new from nissin i think, this weekend. hopefully that will help with this brake issue. i was gonna to use those calipers on my accord v6 i had before i crashed the car lol.

Steering wheel shake when braking often means warped rotors. Did on mine.

I have fixed the problem with brakes overheating & steeringwheels shakes while braking. On the driver side, the caliper bracketone of the sliding caliper bolts (the connects caliper to bracket) were seized up, i was gonna go to auto parts store, but i managed to take out the seized sliding bolt and lube it with anit-seize.Put in new rotors and pads and everything is in working order. I couldnt put the legend calipers on cuz the bolt on the brake line didnt fit in the legend caliper, so when i get the part, i will put it on next time.
thanks
