need answer asap- alternator compatible?

My alt just died tonight, need to replace asap. Is it accurate that a 2003 honda pilot alt will fit a 2000 TL? I want to get it cause it's is not only more output but I can get it cheaper.
What others will be a direct replacement?
Also, has anybody used a brand called "quality-built"? It lookes decent and is even cheaper with a good warranty
Thanks

just wondering how you came to the conclusion of it being the same part?

I did not research anything and do not know the answer, was just curious why you think the honda pilot would fit.

side note; if it has the same mounting points and not much larger than the TL's, yes it will work.

Was looking at various alts, looked at ebay and the alt I know fits the TL was also listed at fitting 03/04 j35 Pilots and odyssey. Just wanted to confirm.

From what it looks it might fit but the connectors don't look the same for the voltage regulator. Compare before buying!

I live in Texas.

and Every thing is bigger!

I have a 3G, and I feel the stock alternator is adequate enough for everything that I can throw at it.

if the part listing is correct, it says it fits my car as well.
That would lead me to believe that it will fit and be enough to recharge the battery.

TL-P is 105 amps
TL-S is 120 amps
Pilot/Odyssey/MDX is 130 amps

All will fit and be direct bolt ons. I know some of the guys running huge audio systems upgrade to the Odyssey alternator.

Thanks!

Ya I want the 130a cause I'm going to be running about 1060w to 1260w rms.
Any suggestions on a brand? Denso is damn expensive.

GO oem fool!
how are you gonna decide on the alternator with the highest amperage, but then cheap out on the brand.
a cheapy brand will most likely not output the claimed amps!

Denso.

Thanks guys. Getting a reman 130a pilot alt from pep boys, having their anniversary sale so it's the cheapest anywhere with 21% off when ordered online and store pick-up. Just grabbing it to get it driveable til I can get a true high output alt.

One more question though, why the heck are the TL alts more expensive than the pilot/oddy ones everywhere? Makes no sense if they're basically the same.

Oh and just to verify, it is a 2003/4 Pilot/Oddy, not 2000 etc right?

Hmm, after some reading, I think I may have a bad ac tensioner, I have a new squeak that started same time as my alt output stopped. But when I raise the rpms, output increases. Would a bad tensioner cause the alt not to spin? Or is could it just be the alt bearing? I does sound like it's coming higher up than the alt.
Thanks

Have ya tried spraying some WD40 on the tensioner to see if the "squeak" goes away ?
Take the belt off and check if the bearing spins freely by hand.

If the belt tension is good, have the charging system load tested.
By the way, the "OEM" original alternator can be rebuilt and upgraded by an electrical specialty shop.

Got a new tensioner and 130a alt on, seems to be working great overall. Idle output seems a little weak, but the slightest above idle is great. Some reason my idle seems just a tiny bit lower sometimes then before the alt change according to dash, haven't checked with scanner yet, but I'm 99% sure it is lower.
Only the 03+ needs the idle relearn right?
