Is my transmission going out?

I've read a ton of info on transmissions and know the 5 spd in my 2000 TL is probably bad, but it's weird because when cold, 2nd gear shifts hard and 3rd gear slips, but the other gears are fine. Then once the car warms up, all gears shift perfectly fine. Any idea is my transmission needs some servicing somewhere or is it on its way out? And I've already done a 3x3, didn't help, also put some lubegard in and no difference.

I know you said you've done the 3x3 fluid change, but the way you describe your transmission's behavior makes me think it is low on fluid.

As I understand it, transmission fluid and other oils expand and contract under heat and cool conditions. If your transmission is a little bit low on fluid, this would certainly explain the behavior.

May want to start looking for an '06/'07 Accord V-6 tranny to replace your old one with.

3rd gear doesn't slip..
What its slipping is 2nd gear into 3rd.

And its on its way out.. Once it start to slip = toasted.. Don't waste your money on band aids and fluid changes once the material has been worn out you are only cleaning the shifting solenoids with an ATF change but you aren't recovering any clutch material = Toasted.

No codes at all, no D5 flashing, and actually prior to the 3x3 it was only shifting hard going into 2nd and 3rd, but no slipping at all, the slipping only started after the flush. The car has 282k miles, tranny was rebuilt at 225k. I've checked the fluid and it's right at the max full mark. I guess my main question is if the tranny is going out, why does it shift perfectly with no issues at all when warm? if the clutch was done for, wouldn't it always have problems shifting?

It must be the other way around.. When its COLD the car should slip perfectly but once the car gets into normal temp then it starts to slip.

Also FLUSH? did they used a machine to flush your trans?? If so probably they destroy it.. Honda clearly states that no flush machine should be used in the trans or else is destroyed in the process.

No flush, just the 3x3, and that's why I'm so confused, it only has issues when cold, after about 5-10 minutes of driving it'll shift perfectly once warmed up.

But it slips or just make a hard shift? Slips occurs when the engine suddenly OVER-REVs kinda like miss shifting in a manual or releasing the clutch while gas it.

Perhaps you have a different issue? No OBD codes? No Check Engine?

Before I did the 3x3 "flush", it used to shift hard going into 2nd and 3rd all the time, but considerably less noticeable after warm. After the 3x3 and adding in some lubegard, it now shifts hard going into 2nd and then slips going into 3rd, but when warm, shifts perfectly fine. No codes and no check engine light.

Perhaps a shift solenoid is hanging up. Our tranny's actually have a "warmer" built into them.

Are you talking about the rubber gasket with the 2 screens or something else internal?

The external solenoid screens tend to get clogged up.

Anyone know where the solenoid on the 5 speed tranny is? I found this article:

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-problems-fixes-117/cleaned-shift-solenoid-filter-screen-fixed-problem-644943/

but that's on a 99' TL with the 4 speed tranny and I don't have anything that looks like that on mine.

I'm not an expert by any means. But are you sure its "slipping" and not "shifting hard"?

If i read the "tranny FAQ" it correctly it says shifting hard while cold is, if not normal, acceptable.
