My CD changer got jammed - Need Help..

I need help to fix my cd changer and receive signal on my radio in my 02 TL. I can't eject or load cds now. I told the dealer about it but they gave me a number to a radio repair shop. I called them and they don't answer. The machine says they will be closed for the holidays until the 9th of Jan. We are 11 now and they still have that machine up and don't answer. So....I need help to fix my cd changer because I am getting bored driving in silence.

Please help

Thanks

It turns on as in powers on - the numbers of the station show but all I get is the static noise.

Ok just came back from the radio shop..They are charging me $450 to repair it...That's crazy...

So now I will try to see if I can fix it myself. Anybody know how to take out the cd changer out of my dash?? I didn't find a DIY..

Thanks a lot!!! Who's DIY is this? I wanted to know it is really necessary to take apart the whole center console to take out my cd changer??? Because there are so many screws all over the place that I have to unscrew. Then I noticed there are about 6 screws for the cd changer. Just want to make sure...

Yes, you have to take out the center console in order to remove the radio.

I used the above linked guide when I replaced my TL radio and it was extremely helpful. I printed out a hard copy of the instructions and I checked off each step as I completed it. I also used small ZipLoc bags to keep all of the screws and fasteners organized. When the fasteners looked similar I wrote a quick note as to which type went where. That really helped when I reassembled everything.

Good luck.

Ok another question. Basically once I have the radio out I want to open it and see if I can fix the jam cd inside. Anybody try to do that part?

Search the forum for tips on removing a jammed CD. Many have been able to remove them without removing the radio. One technique involves banging on the dash alongside the radio. Another involves inserting of a thin metal object, like a nail file, through the front slot.

Search the forum for more details and try those methods before you remove your console.

Maybe the jammed CD is somehow causing the other problems with the radio.

Good luck!

Bob

Ok well the cd came out but that didn't fix the problem. So what I might do is just buy used cd changer and replace it with that. Good idea???
