I have a 2001 Acura TL with 119K and for the last 4 or so years my moon roof hasnt worked and I finally want to fix it. It tilts and closes just fine, but when I hit the button to slide back it moves about a quarter of a centimeter then stops and thats it, then I close it and it moves back the tiny fraction. Any ideas? Im not mechanically inclined and will probably bring it to a body shop

 

sounds like a cable issue, Do you ever clean the tracks and drain holes in the sunroof?

the funky bent thing that looks like a garbage disposal tool - in the trunk, on top of the jack- is for the emergency manual operation of the sunroof
