MIN Cranking voltage

so i had a problem with the neg battery terminal. was loose and i believe caused sluggish start ups

so i did the big three wit 1/0 gauge and it still does the problem.

so the only volt meter i have is my cap. when i try to start, the voltage drops to about 7-8.5 volts, then idles at 13.90--14.50 (cuz of my system)
when i use my starter it doesnt even crank. it turns on the lights, 1 crank then dies.

i forgot my notes, but what is ideal cranking volts? 10?

proably needs a battery, they don't last forever
and the charging rate is fine some cars only do 13.8 with every off and NO SYSTEM

You need a battery. There is more to the battery than just voltage. Bring it to a battery store or sears and have them load test the battery.

i believe its 10.5 minimum cranking voltage. but like stated above, get the battery load tested.

Your battery could have a good voltage, but it may not have enuf crank amp. So, good voltage does not mean battery are still holding charge. The cells are parallelly connected; so if you have 12 cells, 10 of them died, the 2 cells left can still give you good voltage, but not enuf juice to crank. check your charging voltage, it has to be above 14volts.

so if everything keeps resetting then it is DEFINELITY your battery cause it is not holding a charge anymore

Actually the cells would be in series, to add up to approx. 12v.
i. e., 2 cells in series = double the voltage.
2 cells in parallel = double the capacity.
