Unhappy Metal Rub under Load - Front end

I have been banging my head against the wall on this noise.

Car background: The car has 180K, new trans at 107K, and the original CV joints.

1) On acceleration, there is a mild metal on metal rub noise coming from the front of the car (only under load) from 0 - 15 miles a hour. I checked the engine mounts, all good. Not a clicking noise, but metal on metal.
2) If I coast down a hill in neutral, no noise. Only when in gear and accelerating.
3) I checked the suspension on the front, nothing loose, nothing worn.
4) I drained the trans last month again, nothing metal in the fluid and the shifting is perfect.

I am not sure if it a bearing in the trans or an inner ball joint.

Any help? Please?

Thanks,
dre

Solved -

Issue solved. Front Engine Mount. I service tech put the car in Drive while holding the brake down & pounding on the gas to recreate the noise. Now I just have to figure out how to replace the mount or pay $400 (labor & material).

Cheers.

use our diy section and one of our dealer vendors that give a 30% cut off parts prices
that mount retails ~$150
they get to charge obscene labor for it too
diy 1.5-2 hours at casual pace and breaks

if you need help- see the regions link for areas, and ziners there
