so i have noticed that my maint req light has been flashing ever time i turn on the car, it would do so for a couple of secs (like 2). car feels fine, havent noticed anything wierd. anyone knows whats up with it? thx

Usually when your maintenance required light flashes it means MAINTENANCE REQUIRED! Not being a smart A*&, just being logical.

 

Actually NO it DOESNT. Its supposed to be reset at every oil change as a reminder to change your oil. NOTHING more.

 

I stand corrected. I read that MISTAKE in another thread on this website. Doesn't the maintenance required light give you possible codes as well to problems with your vehicle?

 

Maint Required is based on mileage only on your vehicle. It is suppose to be reseted after a maint service. when it flashes it says that you are due for it soon. when it stays lit, its saying its due now. it has no affect on performance with your car. it is strictly MILEAGE BASED. not diagnostic codes will throw is this light is on.
