Urgent! Please Help

Ok, I have 99,500 miles on my 99 tl. I just accelerated from a light granny shifting it into second, just driving normal and at about 20 mph my car just automatically shut off, so I coasted to the side of the road and said,WTF? I thought maybe my timing belt snapped since its never been replaced. But I put it back into park and turned the key and it started right up and drove fine after that. Any suggestions?

Perhaps your ignition switch is failing.

There was a recall for the ignition switch for the 1999 TL. Did you ever have that recall completed? If you're not sure, call Acura with your VIN number or register your TL online with Acura's OwnerLink service.

I recently installed a third ignition switch in my 1999 TL. (The first one was replaced under the recall.) Before I replaced the switch my car would occasionally stall a low speeds and while I tried to start it.

I appreciate it, I am the second owner, i bought it with 60k, and I did recieve in the mail a letter stating the recall on the ignition switch from acura but I never got it replaced. Do you think they would still replace it even though its a 1999 with 100k?

Yes, they will cover it regardless of mileage. Take it to the dealership and have them diagnose it to be sure that it is the ignition switch.
