Go to home depot and get a sheet of lexan (plexi-glass) for $8 or so and cut out the shape of your fog light lens and glue it in. You can make a few of them on one sheet.

dremel with a spirl bit or jig saw with a fine tooth blade. make sure to cut with a peice of wood under it so you cut both so it doesn't move. then get a belt sander and flip it on its side and clean up the edges a lil

plexi will melt i think lexan will def not melt.

you don't want plexi at all it will crack just like the stock lights do.

find the thickness just take the fog lights out and measure.

the glass seems to be glued on so do i have to bake it?
i only have a hairline crack in one and a small bb shot rock chip in the other. both are covered with perfectly clear tape to avoid moisture and are secure and very hardly noticable. i have to turn in my lease next month so im just worried i'll get charged $120 each plus labor @ $98 per hour to replace em if they think i have to.
does any1 know if they will charge me or if its under warranty, or if i shouldnt bother @ all?

yea i just broke the glass and used a screw driver to scrape the glass and glue away. baking would work though.

Would I be able to clean out the silver mirror looking finish by baking the foglight and taking off the glass?

what do you mean? take the silver off behind the glass?

idk why you would want to do that. they would be pretty useless after that.

i went to tap plastics and they said that the lexan would melt from the heat of the halogen. they sell poly-carbonate, and he said lexan was just GE's name for that material. he looked at me stupid so i didnt even bother to buy a sheet from him. tried searching at home depot but they just have plexi-glass for sale. where else can i buy this stuff

i bought at sears or lowes...

they will not melt with lights. hids burn much cooler cooler than halogen. i had halogens with the lexan and had zero problems.

I saw it @ Home Depot. it looks like it's tinted green, but that's just protective skin.
They also had Lexan Silicone Sealant in tubes. the label said it's fully flexible after it dries.
I'm not going to bother because i still think they will melt

Has anyone repainted the inside of their fogs. The silver finish is starting to peel off on mine and I want to replace the Lexan Lenses that I have in their and take off the metal peice around the bulb to see if that will help distribute the heat a little better and not melt the lens.

I don't think the silver finish is painted on. The finish is anodized onto the plastic housing.
