Let my roomie burrow my car

Well I let my my roomie burrow my car. About 2 hours later I get call from her that my TCS light is on, my car won't start and the temp gauge indicates that the is car overheating.
When I went to go pick up the car they finally got the car started and the tcs light went off and the car was running at a normal temperature.
The thing I notice is that she left it in manual mode and probably didn't shift causing the engine to ride at high rpms.
Speed Limit around here is 35/40

Do you think she damage the engine in anyway or that the car shutoff itself in time to not cause any damage?

I drove it about an hour later and I just get a humming noise from the engine bay area that seems normal hopefully and thats about it.

If you're really concerned, have them pressure test the cooling system.

Lot's of bad things can happen when the engine overheats (blown head gasket being one of them).

If you drive the car normally (with the heat off), does the temp gauge go above the halfway mark? If so, immediately get to a mechanic.

Temp gauge is normal when heat is off/on when I drove it later that day. And yeah no signs of a head gasket being blown; no smoke, sweet smell, temp gauge rising.
But I might just get a pressure test on the cooling system. Thanks for the help!

turn the car on and let it sit for 10 min with the heat off after normal temp has been reached. if it does not go up, you're good. also, tell her not to drive with the radio blasting!

I've had women ask to drive my baby before. I simply look at them and laugh.
If I really want I'll throw a "are you fuckin kidding me?" in there for shits and giggles.

I would NEVER let anyone borrow my car. Hell only once have I let someone drive my car with me in it for a small stretch to feel the acceleration from the passenger seat.

Glad to hear your car is alright man. Close call
