Hopefully someone has this bracket..

So, I am going to have ETE replace the transmission in my 2001 Acura TL. But first I need to put it back to "original", in that the guy that rebuilt the transmission last ended up pulling the ATF "heater" and put in a Odyssey external cooler adapter. In doing that you remove the stock round filter, the ATF "heater" and install an assembly that includes two pipe connections and a filter housing with a different adapter pipe connection.

Ultimately, I want to go back "to stock" before the replacement. I just don't want to deal with any hassles of them saying it won't be warrantied, or since it isn't original I will get a core charge, etc.

I can get the pipe, the filter and the connecting hardware is standard stuff. But there is a bracket I cannot get, that being part number 21237-P7W-000.

If anyone did an external cooler upgrade and has this bracket laying around, let me know and I will buy it.

I can't believe that brackets like this are no longer available. Every other parts seems to be. I mean if you stock bracket is corroded to nothing, or if you strip the threads, there seems to be no option to replace it.

Now, I know there has to be tons of these available in junkyards, I just don't have the time to go get one somewhere.

Any help would be appreciated in procuring one of these.

It's a 20 year old model and you would be surprised at how many parts are now 'discontinued' for both the 2G TL & CL's.

Here is one; however, not sure if it is still available. Try it out!

If you cannot get the one above, then this will be your most likely route. Search car-part.com for a local salvage yard to check if any of the 7 vehicle fitments are near you.

Yeah that one you posted is the only one available, but it 100% looks like a scam site.

I sent a message to a few people that are selling the filter pipes on ebay and I will see if anyone responds that they also have the bracket.

It looks like the same exact pictures, and they have 3 available.
The price has nearly doubled; however, the shipping has dropped to $5.70 to my location.

For a discontinued piece, totally dig the $16-17 (with shipping) price tag for brand new.
it's not terrible, nor is it a "deal".

As Goldilocks might say, it's just right

Purchased... Thanks a ton... It is local to me too! What are the odds?

How the heck did that not show up on the search via eBay???

I don't understand how eBay can even operate the way their search engine works. What a total joke at times.

It is already out for delivery today via USPS. I can only hope I get the remainder of the parts via Delray Acura within a week or so.

That is the weird part, before I posted this thread, I searched eBay and everywhere else. Just absolutely strange how eBays search engine doesn't give proper results at times.

I ordered something from Delray Acura last week...when I received the package, there was a wrong part in the box...lol
someone wasnt paying attention and just looked at the last 7 digits to the part# and threw it in the box.
I called and asked for the correct part and they were like...can you do us a favor and ship the wrong part back to us? return label included.

I was like " hahah yeah, I have no use for the part y'all messed up on"

Got the bracket today. It is the right one. Once I get the rest of the stuff from Delray I will switch over.

Also, I ordered up the "jet conversion kit". Anyone know if it increases the longevity of the transmission?

I would imagine since Acura decided to offer it, it was a worthwhile update.

Did you get all your parts yet?

By the way, why not go the BAYA AV6 route? There are a great deal of <100k mile BAYA transmissions available on car-part. if well taken care of these transmissions will outlast your car for sure.

Yeah, it is ultimately my daughters car, so if I am not going to be maintaining it I want it to be "original" just in case she has to pay to have someone do something. And we all know how quickly a lot of places start crying, "it isn't original, that is why it has a problem", which we all know to be BS.

She is a junior in college right now and who knows, as soon as she graduates she may just end up moving half-way across the country. That is why I have spent so much in this car already, it will be solid and I won't have to worry no matter where she is.

So, personally, buying a reman transmission that has a decent warranty is worth it, since if she has problems, they will end up taking care of it.

I have not gotten the parts yet, The order is still listed as "In Progress" @ Delray.

In regards to the AV6, honestly, if it were *MY* car, I would. But, being my daughters car, if it lasts her as long as I am hoping it will I want her to have it as "original" as possible in case someone else needs to work on it in the future. That is also why I want a decent warranty.

There is a place that sells this transmission as a remanufactured that actually has a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty. I am seriously considering driving it there for the swap... Would be a days drive about 1/4 of the way across the country, but it would be an interesting road trip.

A five-year warranty on a transmission is pretty solid - sounds like a good enough excuse for a road trip to me. Plus then you can "shake the car down" as part of your maintenance before you hand it off to your daughter!
