Drone noise coming from motor...

I think I saw the answer to this, but am not sure. I put a K&N panel filter in a few days ago and removed the resonator (from under the filter box). Now I have a low drone/hum kinda sound coming from the engine, mainly the passenger side. I would assume that its related to the filter and resonator removal (maybe the IM or EM?), its just I have never had such an odd sound happen from an engine like this, and especially from the opposite side of the motor. Thoughts? I've just had the car a week, so yes I am being cautious until I have a few more weeks under my belt...

If you removed the intake resonator you will get a hum at idle.

If I were to rev the engine, would the hum go away? I haven't tried that, you really can't hear it in the car with the windows up. The wife was outside when I pulled up and she said it was loud...

Yea thats the drawback with that mod but I think even with an aftermarket intake system it happens (not sure on that) I haven't noticed if it does go away while revving.

If it bothers its best to put it back on.

mine doesn't do it, recheck all screws are evenly torqued, not tightened one screw al l the way then the others
seal of that rubber is all important

did you grab the Y piece along with the resonator- that needs to come out to both holes are open for air intake

Removing the resonator shouldnt make the sound come from the passenger side. Removing the Resonator has/will cause the hum/drone sound from the intake (most noticeable from short ram intakes) and is normal.

Nope, just the drone coming from the engine. I took all the components below the airbox out. I noticed it immediately afterwards, I'm 99% sure that's what it is, just wanted to hear from anyone else that they had heard it as well. Just so its not a coincidence...

Well, it is positional, if you know what I mean, and thats why I thought it a bit odd. I will take a video and post it up so you all can see/hear what it is. It's a deep (80-100Hz) drone that you can hear better if you crouch down by the passenger front tire area. When you open the hood, you can hear it, but not as clearly as from outside of the engine bay. I don't believe its very noticable from the driver's side of the vehicle...

I tried, unfortunately, the sound of the drone is lower than my cell phone's microphone can discern. When I play back the video, the audio sounds exactly the same, even though when I shot it I could hear a difference. Sorry...
