when you open the door the light should come on, when you close it, it should go off.

first of all is the dome light switch in the "door" position, and not the "off" position

and does it come on in the "on" position

btw it sounds from the origional post, all the doors are having issues turning on the dome light

I knew that. The problem is that the light wont auto dim. The door pins are perfectly fine.

auto dim like when you turn the ignition on, or after you lock it???

does it at least turn off, just not with the dimming effect

i can't remember if you have LEDs up in it, but the first thing i would do though is switch that back out to a normal bulb, and see if that fixes it, think of how the turn signal flash faster with LEDs, same basic idea, the computer is senseing something is different, and just shutting it off or so
