clunking sound when turning.

ok guys, lookin for some help here.

I noticed my car has been making what i can best describe as a clunking noise. it usually happens at low speeds and i noticed today it mostly happens when i'm turning.

I hear the sound when i'm sitting in the driver seat, and i can hear it coming from the center console area or beneath the center console area, right where you would rest your right arm behind the cup holders.

there are no loose items in the car such as cd's etc etc, i have ruled that out already. it sound like it has to be coming from beneath the car and almost always happens when i turn a corner at low speeds. it kinda sounds like something moving or loose beneath the car.

tryin to get an idea before i take it to the stealership. any help would be appreciated.

A clickity click that increases with vehicle speed?
Worse when you apply more throttle?
CV joints.

lowered? could be an exhaust mount loose- being in the middle of the car like that,
and check the cv axle bearings- as noted above
Sway bar mount- end links ok?

good guess ill check for loose exhaust mount. if it is the cv axle bearing, is that an expensive fix?

new cv axle assembly- $75-110 see napa auto parts for brand new ones
labor 1 hour or less
Any of the rubber boots torn on the axle??- thats an instant bearing killer

open the windows so you can hear, and go full lock on the steering input to one side- now drive forward as slow as possible - a few MPH- click click click is cv joint for sure
try the other direction-same or different?

It may be a ball joint or sway bar endlinks. Sounds travel and can be hard to locate. Especially when moving.

i'm having somewhat of the same problem. i hear a noise from the front passanger side. happens sometimes when i turn the wheel while parked. happens more often while driving. it gets faster as i drive faster. hitting the breaks does not effect the noise and theres nothing stuck to my tire. i can best describe the sound as someone runing in wet shoes. cv boots? rack? suggestions welcome.

i went in an empty parking lot yesterday so i could drive in circles. with wheels pointed left, no sound. with wheels pointed right, i slight squeak. i felt the cv boot and squeezed it, no tares. its a rubber squeaking sound. is there a bushing that goes bad? i thought our ball joints were sealed, do they need grease? please help, its embarrasing to drive with this noise.

Mine developed an annoying squeak at approx. 90K miles- turned out to be a lower ball joint.

found the problem. this is gonna sound crazy but the place i took it to for balance and rotation didnt torque the wheels down all the way(stupid torque sticks) and for some reason that loose wheel sounded like squeaky rubber. i took it to a shop and they thought it was a bushing. they sprayed down the boot and joints with some grease in a can type stuff and nothing changed. they checked for play in the wheel and nothing. then they had me drive it back and forth slowly in the driveway so they could watch and hear what was goin on. the guy jumps up , grabs his impact gun, tightens the lugs, NOISE GONE.
