Check Engine Light with Fluctuating Revs??

hey all....

so this morning my 99 TL started acting weird

when in neutral or park, the revs fluctuate from about 1000 to 2000, repeatedly.
it just goes back and forth in a continuous motion

when in drive or reverse, that problem goes away, but it seems to have a more agressive throttle than usual

after about an hour of this, the check engine light came on

about 3 months ago, the dealer replaced the egr valve and cleaned out the ports

could this be something related??

i will take it to autozone to pull the code, just wanted to get this out there and see if anyone had any ideas....

thanks in advance

Sounds like an idle valve problem... but I haven't heard of a code being thrown for that problem. Get it read and let us know what comes up. I'm just curious if the code is related to it.

booo....the stealer said it'd be around 160 bucks to get it fixed assuming it's what we think it is

acura client services said no way on any help with this one - that sucks

i think as soon as i get this one fixed, it's getting sold, i'm so sick of dealing with this car

I'd had exact same problem one week ago, replaced idle motor ($100 parts) with 2.5 labor.
Problem no loger exists.
