Brake Light Question

My Brake light intermitenly comes on and off while i am driving. I read a post about wiggling the float in the brake fluid tank. Im gonna try that here in a bit.

Also i was wondering do our cars have a sensor where the dash will tell you when the pads are wearing down or do the pads have those wear indicators that squeak?

no we do not have sensors in the dash that tell you the brake pads are wearing.

Your gonna have to rely on the squeaking indicators for brakes.

Does the brake pedal sink when holding it at stoplights? That would be master cylinder and would cause a brake warning.
Does the ABS work correctly? Another possible cause for warning light

The ABS has its own light and is not related to the red "BRAKE" indicator. The most common cause of the red "BRAKE" indicator being on (aside from the obvious e-brake being set) is low fluid. A problem with the float is possible.

As far as pad wear, the pads have audible warnings. You will notice a distinctive, constant screeching noise when they need replacing (screeching will occur whether you have your foot on the brake or not).

It just went away on its own. i wiggled the float and checked the fluid i dunno if that had anything to do with it. It only happened for that one day while it was cold. so i dunno. havent seen the brake light come on since
