brake lamp light is on! But everything working??

Help me out guys. I am stumped. My brake lamp light came on about a week ago, so I finally got someone to stand at the back of the car to check which bulb was out while I stepped on the brakes. To our surprise, all the bulbs are working. What is wrong then????

That's a tricky one. Are we absolutely sure everything is lighting up as it should? Remember the taillights are dual filament, one is responsible for braking and the other for parking lights.

Gosh, mine came on a couple months ago and I thought it was because i needed service. I did, a good couple hundred bux for new pads and rotors, but Im not sure if thats because of the light. When the svc. was done, the light went away so im good.

Mine was also on for a couple of days and then magically turned off. The manual says it comes on when brake bulb burns, but I didn't see any problem with either parking lights or brake lights. Wierd, but I wouldn't worry about it.

I know everyone wants to help, but before posting you should read the question and description of the problem very carefully. He said his "Brake Lamp Light" - this is not a light you will ever see, even on start-up, unless you have a blown bulb.

This is not to be confused with the parking brake light that simply says "BRAKE". This light is a dual function indicator. It reminds you that your parking brake is set, and it comes on to alert you when the brake fluid is low.

"BRAKE LAMP" is self-explanatory.

I recently posted regarding the same issue and I had my friend check while i stepped on the brake. She said it was all fine but the light remained on. It bothered me a bit so I i checked myself nad the left one witht eh dual filament was not working - very subtle so check carefully!
