block seal fix? head gasket fix? or swap engine?

So i've been having overheating problems for quite a while now, i've posted in a couple of threads on my issue, and now i'm sure it's the head gasket, now i'm in a real big dilemma I have 3 choices and i'd like to hear which one you guys think is the wisest...

1. Use a Block Seal product to hopefully temporarily fix the BHG to maybe sell it. Now this option looks pretty tempting because it's a procedure I could do myself, and I would end up saving the 1grand+ it would cost me if I repaired the head gasket or swap the engine, and sell the car for a decent price I bought mine at 180 000kilometers for 4.9k, price go from 4.5-6.5 depending on the millage where I live. Only thing is I just bought the car in April, and it freaking sickens me to think that I have to go through all the selling looking for another car for a good deal thing, and just the fact that I already put in some money to repair it goddamn life is sometimes a bitch

2. I fix the headgasket, around 10-12 hours of labor + parts i've been quoted around 700$+ for this job. My engine has 180 000kilometers like stated above, so is it really worth it to fix the head gasket? I'm asking because I don't know, it's only my 3rd car, and i'm not an expert.

3. I swap the engine, this is the most costy option of the 3, but if I do this, I THINK my problems will be solved since i've already changed the whole cooling system on the car then again i've read that problems might occur, and by spending so much money on it I really don't know if it's worth it since it's a 10 year old car and I don't know what i'm going to be able to get moneywise when I try to sell it

Acurazine help me out decide what my next move is

sorry for the read and thanks in advance !

Since you don't want to spend that much money to fix an old car, I think just fix the head gasket if that is the true problem. The temporary seal option is just a waste of time and money; unless you want to sell it then the diy seal option is only option.

If you go with option 1 and don't disclose the leak to the new owner be prepared to have your ass handed to you in court.

How do you know for sure it's a head gasket? Have you had a professional look at it?

You should be able to pick up an engine under 100,000Km and install for no more than a $1000.
I can help by pointing you to the right place, if you are in the Toronto area.

And, put yourself in the buyer's position, as YOU will be again soon if you sell it like that without telling the buyer: Would YOU want to be treated that way?

I can't deny it is a little shady, but I don't think I would be the only one to react this way and think of that possibility... Even on this forum i've read a couple of times if you get overheating problems that might be caused by BHG get rid of the car

I've spoken to my friend her father owns a Mazda dealership here in Montreal, and they might get the (on the side) mech to replace my head gasket which would cost me waaay less, let's hope this works out

Oh, and yea i've changed everything, hoses upper lower rad and even 2 others, radiator, rad cap, t stat(OEM), coolant temp sensor(OEM), fan relays switch all work had them checked at the garage, full burp(I don't even remember how many times) Water pump is fine, water pump failure my car would overheat when I drive not at idle or not?, sometimes I know the rotor blades( or wtv) from the water pump erode, but this isn't the case.

It's not shady if you tell whoever is interested in it about the problem. Then if they want to deal with it that's their business.

Slipping water pump impeller or eroded impeller will usually overheat at idle, and cool off as rpms are brought up.

I think you are ASSuming that he will tell the buyer. If he truly wants to get rid of it, do nothing and tell the prospective buyer the issue.

If you have a BHG then ANTIGEL should been leaking in to the engine .Do you have to add Antigel in the reservoir all the time ? Check your oil level if it's in the high side .
Normally antigel leak in engine oil and raise up the oil's level .
Check also your Engine oil Cap for any white residu .

no my engine actually puffs oil, and there isn't that milky texture, and no my coolant level is where it's supposed to be...but before I changed my radiator I have seen white smoke in my reservoir tank, like something was boiling, but the day after or the same day one of my hoses collapsed, so I don't know if it is related. Since then I've changed 2 other hoses, my radiator etc. like stated above

Oh btw guys, really appreciate the help, you guys are really helping me out on my decision , i'm not going to sell it so I already ruled option 1 out hehe

I'm currently waiting for an answer from my friend so I can bring my car in her fathers dealership, thing is she says all the employees are abusing of this service, by bringing their family, friends car in and the mechs instead of servicing the cars that they are supposed to they are sometimes tricked to service the family, friends car so I just gotta wait

well water pump isn't the culprit, but I got good news, my car isn't abnormal when gauge indicates that it is. No boiling coolant, no loss of coolant nothing. My mech is ordering a coolant temperature sending unit let's see what happens
