average cost for replacing...

the timing belt. How much have you all paid to have your belt and water pump changed? i have the kit, but I'm trying to get an idea of how much I'm going to get hit in labor. thanks

Typically 300-400 at an independent shop. 700-800 at the dealer

I paid 740,it includes water pump,timing belt, idler,tensioner,damper,seals,roller.

^ WOW ... for Canada, I would imagine the cost for parts + labour at a dealership would be closer to C$1k ... but if you got it for C$740 (with Quebec taxes) ... that is fantastic!

wasn't at the stealership,brought it to a friends garage.
