An alternator replacement question

My 2000 TL comes equipped oem with a 105 amp Denso alternator and soon will be replacing it due to high mileage just before it gives me a problem.
Anybody here install a Bosch equivalent and are they any good at all?
Appreciate any info...thanks.

What do you mean before it gives you a problem? Is it failing now? Mine has close to 500k miles on it and still going strong

Why would you replace it? Are you experiencing charging issues or electrical problems?

stick with denso for a stock TL,,they make most of the honda parts

if you are running 600+ watts stereo then you may want a higher output alt and better battery
BUT
as said above- whats wrong with it now? noise from bearing? (use mechanics stethascope to ck) charging seems off? headlights dim at idle

most parts stores or battery store will run a full charging system test for free
Tells alt output amps volts, batt cable condition,,battery condition

You may only need a ground wire kit from the dealer- replaces batt neg cable and several smaller engine to frame grounds,, that rust away or corrode under the bolt
That causes poor electrical travel--ground is all important in wiring

I mean just before the alternator conks out and the engine shuts down while travelling to and from work and unnecessarily incurring surprise expenses when all I need to spend on this preventive maintenance is
just 20%.

500,000 miles on your original denso alternator...are you serious?
If you would confirm this, then I need not worry at all.

I do not have any electrical problems right now but just anticipating one due to my high mileage as I earlier mentioned.

Its just more of anticipating the problem as a friends 2k accord V6 alternator just went out. She was on the freeway and it was a complete engine shutdown.
I dont think the alternator has sensors to warn that the brush is just about worn and ready for replacement. What do you guys think?

a charging circuit light will tell you a problem exist in the system
slow starting another clue, weak headlights,,,

Your friend drove a few months with a bad noise before alt failed

That warning circuit light should make sense to forewarn the driver.
She probably did not even notice the noise.
Anyone in this forum have his TL completely shutdown due to a bad alternator?
01tl4tl thank you.

it would keep running worse and worse until the battery were exhausted, then die
