A14 service AND check engine light

A14 service AND check engine light
I am due for my A14 service, car is at 106k miles.
The service light has been on the MID for just shy of 1 week. The MID still displays "service soon" and not "service now"
Today my check engine light came on in the speedometer. Has anyone else has this warning light come on with the A14 service soon indicator or is this most likely a completely seperate problem? Car has never had an issue to date.
I checked that the gas cap was tight. I also drove through a decent sized puddle this morning... big, but not huge.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
