2003 TL possible battery drain issue

I have owned a 2003 TL for 4 years now with next to no issue (the tranny was replaced right before I bought it).

I replaced the battery about 20 months ago and continued to have no issue until a weeks ago. I went to got to work and the car was so dead that the door opener wouldnt even work....nothing. It jumped right up and I replace it at the same place I bought the last one. Two days later the car was just as dead...I took it to Goodyear this time and they told me it was a bad battery. I went back to the original place and they replaced the new battery with another one. They also told me it looked like the alternator was working. This morning (two days later) the battery is completely dead again.

What is going on with this?? Is it the alternator or is it some weird drain. I checked all the fuses and everything looked good.

Need help...sitting at home when I should be at the office right now.

Have the alternator tested. If its ok, then something is draining it. Trunk light? Brake light? something is staying on. I have seen the issue with i believe it was the RL having the outside temp sensor go bad causing it to drain the system.

Jumping it now and taking it back to the shop...hopefully they will find out first try.

I did notice a slight whirring noise here recently that i dont think was there before. They noise that used to occur when you put an after market amp in and it wasnt grounded correctly. When you accelerate and slow downl.

thanks for the tip.

Turn everything off (doors shut, etc.) & put an amp meter in series with the battery to read how much current is being drawn.

dang...I took it to Goodyear again and they told me that they found the drain. It was an AC relay switch causing it...they are charging $225 for parts and labor. Does that sound right? no idea...

Come to think about it...wouldn't I have had to use the AC for the relay to have gotten "stuck" or what not? It's winter and I haven't used it for a while but I only drive the car a fewe times a week.
