2000 TL Drain Bolt

ok... to make a long story short, I need to prove to Jiffy Lube that the 2000 TL's drain bolt is 15mm long like the dealership told me as opposed to the standard honda drain bolt (which is about 10 mm long) that Jiffy Lube thinks goes in the car... if anyone knows of a credible place where I can find the exact specifications for a 2000 TL drainbolt, I can get a nice fat check from Jiffy Lube and considering how broke I am (mainly because of my TL ), I really REALLY need to get on this ASAP... thanks for any help!

Be specific, is this drain bolt for the automatic tranny fluid or engine oil?

Buy 1 at the parts store

Tell us what happened?- did they lose your bolt and put in a shortie with only 2 threads holding it in?

My engine siezed one night driving home and the TCS and CEL lights came on and I took it to the dealership and they ended up pulling out a drain bolt that was too short and the threads on the oil pan were stripped, making the oil slowly leak out over the span of 1 1/2 months... A brand new drain bolt doesn't even fit in the hole any more (it's too wide now) so I'm going to take them to small claims court since that was the first time I'd taken my car to get serviced after buying it...

I still have the shortened drain bolt the dealership pulled from my car, I can get the dealership to write up a report on the damage done to my car and sue jlube to get the oil pan replaced and get refunded for any other work I've had done on the car since then that may have been related to this plus interest... I'm gonna have to go Pro Se on this, but I think I can pull it off

How would you be able to prove that Jiffy Lube damaged the threads in the oil pan? It will be their word against yours and they will likely deny any responsibility.

They will also ask why you didn't check your oil level over that month and a half.

yeah... I pretty much had the same service advisor at the dealership handle any work necessary on my car since then and I still have the jiffy lube receipt, so my service records are in order... the hole looks insane... it's all mangled and looks like crap right now... I know a few people who can help me out with writing up a complaint

it was the first service I'd had done on the car and the manager at jiffy lube was convinced that the drain bolt they pulled from my car was the right one for a TL and I didn't drive that much, so I didn't really think that I needed to check the oil levels until I was closer to the next time I needed to have a service done
