2000 TL-Brakes and pinging problems
Hi...having two problems if anyone can help with my 2000 tl.
1. Rotors are whorpping about every3-6 months, regardless of the rotor or brake pad make or . Its getting expensive.
2. Have pinging on accelaration and load, seems to be mostly in the hot weather but not 100% sure.
Acura mechanic says the rotors is a common problems with this model and say the pinging is because of the removal of MMT from gas and not programable computer for this year.
Thanks for the help and time.

Had em both
Rotors, replaced rotors with Rotoras and pads with EBC Greenstuffs, rotors just got turned and have been on about 40K-Good one time investment so you needn't screw with em very often
Pinging, added some injector cleaner/octane booster evry copule of months until it starts back up

my wife has the 2000tl & i have the 2003tls. Both have issues with warped rotors. After my warranties ran out i started doing them myself. Changing out or removing the front rotors are fairley simple, as long as you have a impact screw driver for those two phillips screws. i think they are loctited in, because they won't come out with just brute strength. you can either get the rotors turned for 20 bones a pop or just replace them for 30ea. The pads are very easy to replace. Acura knows its a real issue, but won;t do fuck all about it. I wonder if the Gen, 3 have this troublesome issue?
