Stalling when accelerating??

I was wanting to change the fuel filter, but don't exactly know where it is located, can anyone help me here,or give me any other ideas why the car sputters upon acceleration?

hesitations

I have a similar but different issue - my 2000 TLP will kind of die or hesitate a little when I step on the gas in the very very start of the depression of the pedal... Doesnt always do it, more when its freshly started after sitting the night or an extended period of time in general... Do i need to replace something or adjust my throttle cable?

Hey baddbenny, that's exactly what mine was doing. I changed the oil yesterday and it seemed to fix the problem for now, we'll see how it goes.

Ok, so last night I met some guys who know a lot about cars, when they heard I was taking it in to Acura there like no, lets take a look at it, to make a long story short we did two things last night that make the car run like it never ran before 1) put STP oil additive ( blue bottle) in the crankcase and 2) Seafoamed it. If your not familiar you can buy Seafoam in Walmart and he put some in the vacuum line to the intake and a little in the gas tank. I know there are directions on Acurazine how to do it. After that there was no more problem whatsoever, hopefully this works for you, goodluck

STP oil addative and a sea foam treatment huh? Is that Sea Foam stuff risky AT ALL? I rather avoid any possible situations that could go horribly wrong. My babys got 180k under her belt, and for the most part, drives like brand new! I would hate to make her mad at me, that always results in my wallet losing weight...

Sea Foam risk, hmm idk, some people say that they can foul up spark plugs due to the carbon, but mine drove well before that problem but when I saw a huge cloud of white smoke come out, man was I happy and after that there was so much more pick up. why dont you check out a Sea Foam thread on here ans weigh out your options good luck man

read the gen 2 thread called Seafoamed the Ol TL
it has everything you need to know- wont hurt your baby and she will
thank you for it
One whole can for the intake vac line- one can for the 1/4 tank of gas
Only fouls plugs if you fail to do a hot drive after and use vtec several times
Change to NGK Iridium plugs afterwards if you have more the 60k miles on them
The awesome tune up in a can!!!
Note- heavy smoke from exhaust is normal and is just the solvent burning off, dont worry!

Well - alright! I'll find the threads and do some reading. I have a sure bet in my pocket that my TL has NEVER had that done. And it may make a night and day difference that I would get a big kick out of. We'll have a looky and let everyone know how it goes. Thanks for the info~

If its never been done- do another full can in the vac line and the tank in about 2k miles
Then your good for 5 to 15 k miles before needing again
Some do it every 3 months to maintain efficiency as gas approaches 5$ gallon

I really need to get this done but I'm gonna wait until I get the Irdium plugs and then I'll do it. I also need to get my valves adjusted b/c they are quite noisy... So I'll keep you guys posted
