Car wont go into reverse, just revs like im in neutral. 1-5 works fine. Just had a transmission put in 2 weeks ago. Could it be a bad transmission or my mechanic doing a shi# job installing it? Im sure you guys know every 99-03 prob so i ask the best

most likely a problem during the trans buildup
needs to go back in- thats what warranty is for
might be simple cable adjustment!! (one can hope)

Did they use Honda DW1 atf, and you ckecked the level per book method?

Scanned it and came up with 3 codes ,p1750,p0780,and p730. Thanks in advance.

Put the car in reverse and have someone check to see if the back up lights come on ?

The reverse lights do go on. Also when i started it this morning i was able to slowly move it in reverse but after a min it wouldnt grab and it was like it was in neutral just as before.

try waiting 1-2 minutes --will it ease in or slam into R from Park?
the wait allows the line pressure to lower- which often helps

but with brake lights working= I would say straight back to the shop for you BY TOW TRUCK

Tryed and didnt work. Its going into "R" so easy like its not even engaging. No sound, no grinding but R is showing up on the dash. I know from previous automatics id get alittle nudge when engaging reverse but with this nothing. Trust me im definitley bringing it back to my mechanic

call them and ask for a tow to be sent (if you dont have towing with you car insurance co)
better not to drive it- avoid possible damage

Wont go in R, how are you supposed to safely operate it?

Stuck spool valve? I dont know the internals of this tranny but, maybe a reverse band, or servo not engaging.

Get this turn out that my mechanic i had for 6 years tryed to screw me and didnt even put a transmission in. He kept giving excuses of what it might be so in the end i got pissed and took the car to acura and they informed me it was the old transmission. Paid 1500 and the guy said he cant find the reciepts now which is a slap in the face. If i dont get my $$ back what are my options (dmv,bbb, its technically fraud i think.

Police report for fraud--

BBB only helps if they belong to it- its voluntary,, but they can do a binding arbitration if a member = render a decision of money to you for fraud,,

Small claims court = for the amount paid plus some damages for the fraud and hassle
There you win for sure--customer beats shop in court,,wear a jacket and tie- the guy dressed better wins

As long as you have a receipt for the work from him, it doesnt matter what he can or cant find to show what he allegedly bought--
even with paper showing a purchase (anyone can forge one on a computer)
that `new` trans never went into YOUR car,,
so where is it--in his buddies,, or it never existed = thats FRAUD

You show up for small claims court- with a note on dealer stationary- stating this trans was never replaced = it is the original to this vehicle
You WIN!!!! --then have to try and collect before the guy disappears,, but there are legal forces to assist you there
