03 TLS Headlight issue. Light was out but recently started coming on again.
Hey guys,
I had my drivers side light go out a while back and thought it was an issue with the ballast, as i had gotten replacement bulbs and that didn't fix the problem. Well, recently, i the light just came on out of nowhere and was working again. It then went off again. It's like every other time i get in my car the light will come on, but if i stop and turn it off and then go back to my car and turn it on again, it won't come on like before.
So what kind of issue would cause this? I figured i needed to replace the ballast, but if the ballast was bad the light wouldn't come on at all right? Would a loose connector result in something like i explained above?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

both are correct thoughts
ballast can be intermittant--relay can be failing
contacts must be tight
what brand bulbs?

The bulbs are factory, both the old ones and the new ones i got to replace them with. After installing the new bulb and seeing that it didn't work i placed the old one back in. If it's the ballast, is this something i can fix myself or do i have to replace the entire ballast?

you cant repair the ballast unless its just a bad wire connector (you can hope!)
Make sure why it failed--
is there moisture inside the headlight lens--that drips down and out right onto the ballast--not good for electrical parts with super high voltage inside~

ok - I just havn't heard of any ziners dismantling the ballast to repair
seems safer and easier to go afternarket ballast,,, with a water tight unit
