Question 03' TL with weird misfire issue & runs hotter

My tl has 24x,xxx.. I replaced my tranny at about
235ish, replaced all mounts...drove car for a few thousnd
Miles more and the timing belt snapped.. So i then replaced all belts
Waterpump crankseal and vtec solenoid gasket replaced plugs and coils
Then recently the car began to run hotter thus cycling the fan more
Frequently so the car begins to overheat on hot days with the ac on
throttle response is poor and idle feel as if theres a mysterious misfire
I kno i jus told a f'n life story but i figured more detail i include the chances
Of me gettin positive feedback wud be greater lol but PLEASE HELP i wanna take Care of this issue before i do my performance mods nd upgrades...

codes?
did a valve ck/compression test after broken timing belt? interferance engine!
what guage indication is `overheat` to you?
more than half- more than 3/4- redline?
loss of coolant? oil/coolant crossover of fluids indicating head gasket

fan temp sensor is pretty common on here- if driver side fan runs more than 2 minutes at shutdown - when temp normal, bad sensor

radiator condition?--some are getting flow issues-- and your car didnt get needed maitenance before you,,
older coolant goes acidic- aluminum rad internals...remember science class?

I realize as a tech you know these details, so they are for noobs in the future

have you removed the intake manifold and done a full egr port and passage cleaning of the manifold
needs that every 75kmiles and you probably never had it!!
makes for strange running problems
clean the IACV inside TB unit while its all apart
egr system cleaning not found in acura sceduled mait, have to know about it from outside sources, like acurazine!!

After I replaced the timing belt and noticed the misfire & overheating issue...I got a code for a misfire within the third cylinder checked all coils and plugs all were fine so I cleared the code and it never return but the symptoms remained I proceeded to do a compression test and all cylinder were within specs; i never allowed it to overheat in the red maybe about 3/4 all fluids are at specified levels and there no leaks...what direction should I go from here? I had a senior tech check it out and he mentioned cleaning the manifold and replacing the temp sensor an maybe replacing the radiator...help out Please

valve adjust is possible
egr system plugged is probable and where I would start
since you are a tech, do it all at once,,
after soaking manifold and shoot solvent thru each port and the throat to soften carbon,
use a welding rod/wire coat hanger
poke it THRU the passage from one end of manifold down to the egr valve openings- and thru each egr port at cyl.
total flow is the desired result

whats your compression like? rechk after valve adjust
did you buy this car blown up?

rad would be next on the list if it gets hot with ac use or on hills, and you did the wp already

we agree- clean the egr system/ intake manifold
replace fan temp sensor
replace radiator

see other overheat threads where rad finally was the real fix

What about bleeding the air out since you had it open? Did you try that?

@01TL4TL my compression from 1-6 cylinders are 142psi, 138psi, 141psi, 146psi, 150psi, 140psi...thats within spec becuz the max variation between the cylinders is 29psi, i didnt buy the vehicle blown up...the previous owner bought it from a leasing company and did plenty highway driving between n.y & c.t.... & @TotaledTL Bleed What Air From Where ? I've Read Thru A Few Threads And im jus gonna seafoam the oil and gasoline, Clean The EGR system & Manifold, do the thermal block spacer kit for the IM and TB, Valve Adjustment, Replace The Rad & Fan Temp Sensor...And See What Happens From There... I'll Stay Posted. Thanks

! Air from the cooling system- If the water pump was replaced then the system was open. Did you read the o/m? Why would you seafoam anything or just replace parts right away?

nice try kal.. but please see the dates on threads when posting
If you want to build you post count simply scroll down the main section of gen2 and the probs and fixes area,,plenty of places needing bona-fide help

If you are just guessing, or repeating what was said by someone just above,,especially someone with thousands of post/actual car repair experience,,,better to skip that thread

Welcome to acurazine,,Im sure you have good info to add!
