03 TL Trans temp sensor

Started to replace a bad transmisson temp sensor only to have it break off flush with the transmission case. I'm unable to get out but I can push in and turn around.
Has anyone had this happen and had success getting it out or could it be left in the trans?

Answer to my own question...
Fix was to push sensor into transmission case then took a small wood dowel (1/2" dia.) taped small piece of sandclothe to it, inserted in a drill and cleaned out the bore where the sensor sits. The oring on the sensor body is what makes it so difficult to remove. I turned the sensor around and pulled out by the brass end.

I drilled a hole in mine, and used a sheet metal screw with a slide hammer to pop it out. You guys are brave! I wouldn't have thought it possible to get out once it was inside the case. Great thinking and skills!
