I would of done them flat.

I would of also in stead of fiberglass, done it in a fabric or suede that matches the interior. IMO that looks classier than fiberglass. Fiberglass also cracks really easy and if you install the rear deck with too much force or even turn the bass up too high it will crack.

I like it though. I've always wanted to do something like that but didn't want to spend money on amps or cutting the rear deck. I'm good with replacement speakers.

i had them flat, just not for me. As far as cracking not worried a bit, we build sub enclosures all day long that never crack with some serous pressure going thry them.

for everyone elyse thanks for the compliments. Thing i may wrap it in black leather to match up with the back seats or maybe a suede.

I think if I was going to run 6x9's (and 4 of them) I'd try to keep more in the shap of the dash pad and the rear window.

if you had fifteen 10-12" subs in the trunk glassed in you would be getting all kinds of praise from the same people who are bashing an unfinished product.

as long as the job is done right and looks clean in the end whats the problem? lol. keep up the good work and keep us updated.

i agree, it would help. its not a huge issue though.
people arent that stupid (or smart for that matter) around here.

they go for the 90's civics and integras that they know wont have alarms..
people normally wont go near "nicer" vehicles in fear of getting caught.

they steal the shit out of some F-bodies though.

Because folks think

more= better

in car audio

less= more.

You get imaging issues, time delay issues if you want to get technical... more money, more power.. etc etc... once you hear a car with a great front stage, you'd understand.

Rear speakers take alot away from your imaging. First there is the time delay issue but more importantly, your sound is supposed to "appear" as though the singer is on the dash. This means that the majority of sound needs to come from in front of you. If you have a bunch of sound coming from behind you, it adds NOTHING and only takes away from the goal. It makes it that much harder to achieve.

Stock speaker locations are not there for audiophiles. If auto manufacturers ever get into SQ competitions then you won't need to replace a single speaker and you can be happy with the factory locations. It makes no sense to accept that you need to replace the factory speaker because it's crappy but believe the location it was placed in is superior in some way.

^^guess i should have left it to the experts, i still have all the factory locations just added 4 more. besides the sound delay would be so minuit you wouldnt even be able to tell.

to everyone elyse thanks for the kind words, and thanks matt for having my back, this is the first forum iv ever been on with so much bashing.

looking good! I don't get why people are saying its gonna sound like shit? 4 6X9's in the back will be loud but i'm guessing since you're doing this your factory speakers have been changed too. if that's so i think it should be fine if not great
