First steps

Here's some before and after pictures of my '00 SSM TL. Keep in mind that I don't have a lot of money right now (mortgage, masters tuition, and saving for our first child) and I'm not really a car person to begin with. But reading all the things here and seeing everyone's car got me to begin doing some mods. Nothing fancy or big, but small steps. I'd like to thank Rev and Lawaia for answering my questions and Msnowdon for the rims.

BEFORE: Sorry, didn't really take any before pictures of my car so I just pulled ones as close as I could find off the goggle search. Just to give you an idea.

My rims had some problems. All 4 looked like this:

AFTER: Changed to the TSX rims (couldn't find affordable aftermarkets or OEM type-s), flipped the front plate. Added tint and the red/white tails. Debating about the body kit and I know it would look way better with a drop, but unless I can find some quality springs on sale probably can't afford it right now. Not seen is the 02 cupholder which I also added

Hey ... you're right on one thing -- a DROP is what you need. After that ... it's gravy. Props for having your car really clean. And it's ironic you found random pics of that colour having Ontario (Canada) plates.

If I ever take that job in Hawaii, I'm definitely shipping my car over!

wow, it looks like mine, except that i will have a drop in about two weeks (tein basics)... and the fact that mine is emerald green.... and that you have mud guards.. and tints....

ah.. i guess we only have two things in common, the rims and tails.

nonetheless, nice car. it's just the begining.. this will soon be your before pics..

That might work. Any pictures of the springs? What's their condition like?
I'll be off island on vacation during that week, but I should be back by the 8th.

I'm not sure the exact law, but it has to visible from the back. Some people have a little metal braket that they stick it on hanging under their bumper near their mufflers.

Wassup with Mililani, is it the TL capital of the world or what? Every time I got to the town center I see at least 3-4 TLs in a couple rows of parking. Thanks for the rim offer, in the end (after I sell my old rims and tires) then I will end up spending around $400 which is only a little more then I would have spent to replace the old rims with the same old rims. I was looking in to the kit when someone said the mainland acura was getting rid of their kits, but was too late and our acura said they'd have to special order it. So next time I have money the drop and kit will be on the way. Also want to upgrade the sounds, but that will be another 700 or so for a new deck (Eclipse), speakers, wiring, and labor.

Thanks again for everyone's input. Will update when I win the lottery. Damn, we don't have a lottery in Hawaii...

Here's some pics I took of the cup holder. Excuse the dirty and crap, haven't cleaned there in a while. I basically ordered it from the dealership (~5.00) then clipped off the two front tabs and sanded it down flat, then sanded the two bottom rear tabs a little (not completely off, just until is sat flat and did not move). It works much better then the old holder. Might just be one of the top mods ever.

Side by side

Old holder. Shallow

New holder. Deeper and holds drinks securely
