Upgrading Brakes-Need help

well guys i am thinking its time to upgrade my brakes. im not going to do a bbk but i am thinking about doing aftermarket rotors/pads. i have powerslot rotors on there now in the front and OEM acura pads all the way around.

i was thinking about getting powerslot or rotora rotors all around and hawk pads? Let me know what you guys think and what you all are running.

Thanks in advance. im tired of shaky wheel

If you have a shaky wheel, you're rotors are warped. That means you shouldn't go with PowerSlot anymore.

I'd personally go for RacingBrake rotors/pads. I can vouch for 'em. I've made multiple hard stops with them, and I don't have any vibration coming from them at all. They dramatically reduce the level of brake dust created as well.

Hope this helps!

Princely is right. Racingbrake or Rotora are great upgrades. One of the moderators here, fsttyms1, does autocross in his TL with rotoras and hasn't had any problems. So choose either. If you need to upgrade your pads, EBC gets good reviews here as well.

You can also upgrade your single-piston front calipers to dual-piston versions from the 93-95 LS Coupe / 94-95 GS Sedan, or 91-96 NSX. The NSX calipers have smaller pistons than the Legends, but the NSX is 400-500lb lighter than the Legend as well. Also the NSX versions have "N S X" stamped on the side, which can seem sorta rice since you aren't driving one.

I'm running RacingBrake Slotted 1pc upfront with hawk ceramic pads and legend caliper upgrade. In back using stoptech slotted rotors with hawk ceramic pads.
Love the setup.

Don't forget Rotora's are also very good. Choose whichever you prefer

Racing Brake slotted fronts w/E300 pads, Centrix slotted rears w/OEM pads. Legend 2 piston calipers front and new reman. OEM in rear. Racing brake SS brake lines F&R and Amsoil DOT 4 fluid. Total cost was about $1,000.00, I installed. Huge difference now. Braking response and feel are greatly improved. Brake fade is nearly non-existent in moderately hard prolonged stops. Very happy with choice.

From: The grande.. Riverdale NJ.. Hopefully moving to skyline village in Lincoln park NJ..yes dirty jersey
i am upgrading my whole front brake setup as we speak also..
I have EBC greenstuff pads and 96 NSX daul piston calipers in the mail.
I'm ordering either EBC or DBA rotors this week and am still deciding on wheter or not to do the line to steel.. I'm leaving my back brakes alone...

Quick question do I have to upgrade front and back with braided steel lines or can I only do the front for now? Excelerate sells rotora lines for the front for $75 or XLR8 front and rear for $100 i was thinking just doing up front since thats all im messing with or will it make a difference?

If you're doing brake lines do both, especially if you can get the much longer rear lines for an additional $25.

It will improve pedal feel as the lines wont expand like the OEM ones do. This will help even with a completely stock rear setup, though you might not be able to feel it after you upgrade your fronts. Either way, do it

I have EBC 3GD rotors front and back (slotted/dimpled) and Hawk hps pads all around and must say I love the setup. The brake force is excellent, smooth and the brake dust is negligible. All I need now is some ss brake lines and I'm golden.

Good luck with your search. I would recommend EBC for sure, and there's a couple other members who have them as well and are quite happy.

Ive had my TL about 3yrs now and every 6-8 months i ve bought new pads n rotors cuz they keep warping. 6 months ago i got my pads n rotors done @ pepboys and the parts came with a 18 mo warranty so they are replacing them free of cost which is cool...

next time i need to come out of pocket for pads n rotors i will definitely buy some of the recommended brands you guys mentioned but what is the price of some of these other calipers you guys mentioned and where can i order them from?

thanks
